To push the limits of its monitoring technologies, SYLVA is conducting field trials in three diverse environments:
- The Arctic
- Hot and dusty southern Mediterranean
- High-altitude areas in the Alps
Key tasks of the three Demonstration Pilots include:
- Stakeholder engagement: Addressing local needs to enhance the impact of SYLVA innovations.
- Sample collection: Gathering area-specific bioaerosol samples in the 1st year to create reference datasets for training automatic bioaerosol monitors.
- Device testing and adaptation: Testing the performance of automatic bioaerosol monitors and making necessary adjustments in the 2nd year.
- Sustainability demonstration: Showcasing the reliable performance of improved monitors to stakeholders in the 3rd and 4th years.
